To be honest, I don't know why I stopped. I have no problem adding books to my ever growing to be read pile, even though I complain about said pile to myself a lot. Not wanting to buy books came out of the bookish blue; it surprised even my mom and she knows how much I love books. While online, I would add books to my cart from different websites (don't worry, I will be doing a post on where I buy books), then I will leave them there. Or when we go to Wal-Mart or Target, I will go by the book section, add one or two books that I really want to read in my cart, then before checking out, go back to the book section and put them back. Does anyone do that?
It was like I fell out of love with buying books and I really do love buying books...okay I love getting happy mail.
Christmas came and of course I spent my Barnes & Nobles gift card on a book and tiny journal that can help me track my books along with my favorite quotes and notes from the books.
Around the end of December I saw a post on Peppers Facebook, asking if anyone wanted to participate in her launch week and of course I signed up. I heard so much good things about her books, I had to jump at the chance at this. Even though I own three books of hers, I haven't read them yet.
Before reviewing I wish I did my research and saw that it was a second book in the series, but I didn't feel lost while reading it.
With my Barnes & Nobles I purchased this. In my reading resolution post I said I wanted to read more comics and graphic novels. Also, thanks to Tumblr, I came to love Harley Quinn and I wanted to read about her. So this turned out to be a win-win situation.
Also, can we talk about how cute and badass she looks on the cover?
I never read an Abbi Glines book, and this one appealed to me more than her other series, being that this is the first book in the series.
I read the sample on my Kindle and I really liked what I was reading, but at the time I couldn't afford paying $10.99 for it. While browsing Book Outlet, I saw that this was on there and I put it in my cart. Knowing that when a book that I really wanted comes up I was going to buy it, because I had a $5 coupon that I've been saving.
This is the second book in the Mapmakers Trilogy and was the reason why I placed my Book Outlet order, because at the time they only had 5 copies and I wanted to get it before it sold out.
If you recall I talked about this book, briefly I might add, in my books I want to re-read in 2016 post. The third and final book, The Crimson Skew, doesn't come out until mid July so I will be re-reading the series in mid May to be freshen up on all the details. Then I do a series review.
I received this book for review from Blogging For Books. I requested to read this because I wanted to get out of my comfort zone of books that I usually read. This, trust me, was definitely was out of my comfort zone.
I need to say it has a trigger warning for suicide and verbal child abuse. It is such a great read, one that will be on of my favorite reads of all time.
Not much I know. I usually buy at least ten books in a month. I'm really happy with myself that I was able to have some control when buying books.
