Humans and androids crowd the raucous streets of New Beijing. A deadly plague ravages the population. From space, a ruthless lunar people watch, waiting to make their move. No one knows that Earth’s fate hinges on one girl.
Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg. She’s a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister’s illness. But when her life becomes intertwined with the handsome Prince Kai’s, she suddenly finds herself at the center of an intergalactic struggle, and a forbidden attraction. Caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal, she must uncover secrets about her past in order to protect her world’s future.
The plot and setting were unique and I can’t wait to start reading Scarlett to explore more on the world that Marissa built. I want to read more about the Lunars, I don’t know if they’re going to be more of them in the other books, but it would be cool to see how they feel about Queen Levana.
I have to say Iko was by far my favorite character besides Cinder; she’s just so amazing and I want my own Iko.
Iko rolled to her side, clasping her metal grippers over her chest. “Prince Kai! Check my fan, I think I’m overheating.”
I couldn’t agree more with Iko, Prince Kai seemed too yummy, just yes Iko, I had to fan myself with my book (granted it might be because I was in a hot room, but lets’ go with Kai being hot for review sake). Iko had so many memorable quotes that made me laugh that I won’t be able to right them all down for this review.
Aside from Iko, Cinder is my other favorite character, and I ship her so hard with Prince Kai that it’s not even funny. Cinder is sarcastic, I guess a little unsure of herself and there were times I felt so bad for, especially a certain scenes.
Pearl and Adri, mmm, I have nothing to say about them, they’re just… I can’t find polite enough words for them, especially Adri. She’s up there near Queen Levana to me, and just nope, don’t like her at all.
Queen Levana, there’s really nothing to say about her that has already been said. She’s just a whole bunch of nopes’ for me; don’t like her, just nope.
