Guinevere 'Gwen' Poe, also known as con artist (the lovely Eli gave her that name) and Dr. Eli Davenport met in unusual circumstances. Gwen, as she says in the beginning, should of known that that day was going to be her worst day. There were small hints that she ignored during the moment, but the big one was win her fiance, Bash, called out the brides name and they ran away with each other. To be honest, whenever it's asked if someone objects the union, I pictured it just like this.
Gwen and Eli didn't start off as friends, they hated each other, all because of Eli's personality. If he wasn't such a jerk I think they would've gotten together a little sooner, but I love the way this was played out. I couldn't picture how the author was going to get them together just because of their hate towards each other.
In high school do you remember writing notes to your best friend? To me this read like one, but in a good way. Okay more like a letter from your best friend you haven't seen a while and she writes you an email explaining what had happened to her recently. So while reading this you feel like her best friend, saying the things a best friend will say when she meets an ass, then saying she's stupid for giving him a chance. Then rooting for the couple. I felt like I wanted to call her up after that ending and ask her what the hell and what's going on.
Wow such a long explanation on how I feel about this book.
Gwen and Eli is my OTP. My Everything. I can't picture them with anyone else. Like, uhhhhh. So many feelings for them and I'm glad they didn't change who they were to be with the person. They stayed true to themselves and I love that.
This was such a refreshing read for me, granted I never read this type of book before, but still. This was a slow burn, no instalove. I wish I can put into words on how much I love this book. This author, who is slowing becoming one of my favorite authors. Her writing is amazingly beautiful.
I feel like I can't give this a proper review because all I want to do is shove this book in your face and tell you to read it. Drop whatever is that you're reading and read this awesome book and get all in your feels.
This one of those books that I want all forms of this book. So whenever this comes out in print I'm buying it and loving it. May even take a selfie with it. My love for this book has no bounds.
Oh and before I end this, I only had one small problem with it and it was the passage of time, I couldn't really pin point how much time has passed since the wedding incident.
So in conclusion what I have to say is read this book!!
I received this book for review from the author, but that doesn't influence my decision.
About the Author:
I’m a twenty-year-old something born in Montreal, Canada but currently living in Virginia for school. I would tell you want my major is however after two years I still have no idea what I’m doing.
So I’m a writer (duh that’s how you found me), movie enthusiast, and self-proclaimed chef. I love music even though I can’t sing or dance to save my life. (That doesn’t necessarily stop me but you’ve been warned.)
I started Ruthless People the summer of 2013 in hopes of giving myself a new type of love and crime drama. I never knew so many people thought like me! I feel truly blessed to have fans like you all! Writing is my true love and having you all enjoy my words is a dream come true.
